Explore the wonder of the Aurora Boriallis/Northern Lights by the south coast of Iceland
Day 1. Arrival to the Keflavik international airport. Transfer to Reykjavik
Accommodation in Reykjavík.
Day 2. The Golden Circle and Eyjafjallajökull
Today we are heding to the UNESCO´s world heritage site and national park Thingvellir where the oldest still existing parliament in the world was founded in 930 AD. The riftzone between the Euroasian and the North American tectonic plates lies through the national park. We will also visit the Geysir area with it´s many hot springs and the Golden Waterfall. Accommodation near the world famous Eyjafjallajökull which was spouting an ash cloud over the northern hemisphere in 2010.
As we are staying in a rural area far away from the light pollution are there great chanches of seeing the northern lights.

Day 3. Glaciers and waterfalls
We will drive past the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers, see the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls and the spectacular basalt columns at the black sandbeach near Vík. We proceed to the biggest ice cap of Europe Vatnajökull. The highlight of the day is the stunning view to the icebergs of the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon.

Day 4. South Coast and Skaftafell National Park
After a visit to the Skaftafell national park will we return along the south coast to Reykjavik. We will enjoy the view to the glaciers and stop at the southern post point of Iceland cape Dyrhólaey.

Day 5. Transfer to the airport and return flight.
Remarks: It is possible to extend the stay in Reykjavik which gives the option to visit the Blue Lagoon or participate in a whale watching tour i.e.
