There is no wonder that Snæfellsnes is sometimes referred to as Iceland in a nutshell. The Snæfellsnes peninsula in the western part of the country is almost like a miniature of the whole country.
The ever changing landscape is stunning, lava fields and craters, fertile farmland and bird cliffs will not let anyone untouched. We drive through fishing villages of Ólafsvík and Grundarfjörður and walk along the coastline at Arnarstapi, where there are amazing rock formations and cliffs rich of birdlife, we will also visit Hellnar a charming village in beautiful surroundings. With some luck then we might spot seals on our way. We will also stop at the gorgeous beach Djúpalónssandur with it is other amazing views and rich history. We will drive around the tip of the peninsula which is Iceland´s smallest national Park where we enjoy the view to the majestic Snæfellsjökull glacier which according to the legends has magical power. We will also stop at Mt.Kirkjufell which is famous from films like The Secret Live of Walter Mitty and TV Series like the Game of Thrones.
This is a full day tour which gives you insight in Iceland´s nature, daily life and history.
